After some careless play in the Panama defense, Deilmison van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jose Carita got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Carita didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.
