The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Dacii Liberi - IASI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedicto Abello didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihnea Suşu. FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bogdan Chelaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Bogdan Chelaru sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 34 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Suşu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Mihnea Suşu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaizko Abaurre to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mihnea Suşu came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 52nd minute. Petru Drâmba hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Mihnea Suşu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 57th minute of play. Mihnea Suşu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Andino went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 59 played minutes FC Dacii Liberi - IASI got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Chelaru. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Gaizko Abaurre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Bogdan Chelaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Dacii Liberi - IASI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. With a little luck, FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's Mihnea Suşu got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mihnea Suşu. The goal made the score 1-4. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Mihnea Suşu in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. After 95 played minutes FC Dacii Liberi - IASI got a freekick which was hit by Demetrio Nero. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Dacii Liberi - IASI throughout the match.
