In the 41st match minute, A.C. Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Berca to maneuver through the defense. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Mederi in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aurelio Mederi made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Costin Giugiuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Costin Giugiuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Horea Berca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costin Giugiuc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 96 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costin Giugiuc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chile's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
