In the 29th minute, Olivier Gilg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Chico Donato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes DIPLOMATA FC PAB got a freekick which was hit by Kenny Rothwell. In the 47th minute, Olivier Gilg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. DIPLOMATA FC PAB made a substitution. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After 60 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chico Donato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Donato narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chico Donato was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 77 minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Chico Donato made a huge save. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Chico Donato when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 89th minute, Niculae Martinescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Lopes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Chico Donato when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
