In the 18thth minute of the game Jackson Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Sílvio Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateo Leguizamo during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in ATHLETICO PRaiano's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Pires came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Valentino Ferrant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 42 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sílvio Pires, 2-0. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Sílvio Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. If Abram Luque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Fernandino in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Pires saved ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Luque in the 56th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Sílvio Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Eusébio Tepedino managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Luis Rubio in the 58 minute of the game. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Eusébio Tepedino quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abram Luque, made in the 65th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Jorge Magrina got a free kick in the 66th minute. Mateo Leguizamo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joshua Curbelo made in the 73rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Abram Luque. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Natã de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Natã de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valentino Ferrant scored 3-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. El Salvador's Luis Rubio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by José Paulo Almeida in the 83 minute of the game. In the 91st minute, Mateo Leguizamo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Fernandino's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. El Salvador's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
