With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Kaj Petersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Dindarbelidiyespor's Kaj Petersson got a free kick in the 40th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaj Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fredrik Wiman could save by the left post. In the 78th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After 78 minutes, Felix Montes made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Dindarbelidiyespor's Fredrik Wiman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fredrik Wiman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dindarbelidiyespor's goalkeeper Fredrik Wiman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dindarbelidiyespor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Juan Sebastián Puig managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 93rd minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
