Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cyprian Cholewa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 8 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilberto Gai who took care of the corner kick. Adam Chazen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Adam Chazen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cory Trevor, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Chazen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FusbalClub Swietochlowice's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cory Trevor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FusbalClub Swietochlowice's Adam Chazen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Gai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adam Chazen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera went to the wrong direction when Gilberto Gai was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Adam Chazen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46thth minute of the game Cyprian Cholewa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Chazen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FusbalClub Swietochlowice had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
