SV Wissenkerke's Mariano Bombarda got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a SV Wissenkerke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute of the match Sylvan Baggio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean-Paul Schuiling to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Jean-Paul Schuiling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Mariano Bombarda took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 61st minute of play. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Jean-Paul Schuiling sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 67th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 69th minute of the match. The supporters of SV Wissenkerke booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Gerjan Staarman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Gerjan Staarman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 80 played minutes, SV Wissenkerke's Sylvan Baggio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Wissenkerke reached it. Gerjan Staarman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean-Paul Schuiling got free with Benito Sanz in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Alan Moruga was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SV Wissenkerke's Casper Tinselboer got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 96th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. SV Wissenkerke's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
