Mateo Leguizamo was slow to take the kick. During this time El Salvador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Moises Fernandino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wesley De Wever quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 34th minute of the match El Salvador got a corner. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mateo Leguizamo ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 34th minute, Jorge Magrina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a good free kick, Jorge Magrina got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin. The wind increased when Dominic Colebrants made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 75th minute. El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Karel-Jan Biermans in the 77 minute of the game. Natan Coekx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Moises Fernandino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wesley De Wever was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. The referee ignored Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's protests and gave David Smedts a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's David Smedts got a free kick in the 91st minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
