Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Loco De la Maza however easily saved by the left post. 10 minutes into the match, Gianluca Vialli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gianluca Vialli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loco De la Maza having to interfere. A hard shot 20 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Loco De la Maza managed to make a qualified save. Falckner FC's players were relieved. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 24 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Loco De la Maza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Falckner FC's Loco De la Maza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Falckner FC from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Loco De la Maza. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Camilo Gisbert made in the 34th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luis Andino however managed to control. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A wasted opportunity for Falckner FC. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Loco De la Maza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felix Montes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. Julio Vera had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Marco Bilbo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gianluca Vialli had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
