With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Otterlei in the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Hans Otterlei notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Hans Otterlei put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Steve Hodge hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 20 minutes of play, La Cosa Nostra's Hans Otterlei made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Hans Otterlei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Hans Otterlei scored 0-5 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Hans Otterlei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Otterlei in the 29th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Cosa Nostra the free kick. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Hans Otterlei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hans Otterlei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Efrain Moruga with Eliseo Noboa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Hans Otterlei might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hans Otterlei ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Otterlei, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Otterlei came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Hans Otterlei put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Perpinya in the 45th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hans Otterlei to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Hans Otterlei recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Hans Otterlei showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Hans Otterlei sent off a good shot on target. Arnaldo Perpinya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 59 minutes in the game, Hans Otterlei fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Hans Otterlei received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Hans Otterlei slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 61st minute. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Hans Otterlei scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-10. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on La Cosa Nostra's corner Tytus Lepper fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benito Sanz quite easily take care of the ball. Joel Delfino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. Axel Tasis made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that La Cosa Nostra's Joel Delfino managed to reach the ball for a save. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Marciano Bizen sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Marciano Bizen came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marciano Bizen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Marciano Bizen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Marciano Bizen slotted it home off the left post making it 0-11 in the 94th minute. La Cosa Nostra's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
