Costică Peter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Axel Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Ronaldo Messi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Ronaldo Messi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. After a rather tough play, EFSANE SİVASSPOR's Edinho Rezende got a free kick in the 78th minute. EFSANE SİVASSPOR's Vygandas Jančiauskas was substituted for Ronaldo Messi. Edinho Rezende hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Orlando Tafalla missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 80 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Costică Peter right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Secada in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Costică Peter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Abram Secada put it in 5-5 from a short distance just to the right of Costică Peter. Costică Peter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
