The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game Deilmison van Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 7th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Deilmison van Basten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Deilmison van Basten took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Deilmison van Basten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Deilmison van Basten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 in the 17 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 29th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Deilmison van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deilmison van Basten couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert got a free kick in the 36th minute. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodriguinho Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match ATHLETICO PRaiano got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Unax Mudarra ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to ATHLETICO PRaiano's Erubiel Valery getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Unax Mudarra pulled a muscle in his leg after 79 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a ATHLETICO PRaiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Deilmison van Basten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0.
