Francisco Ibañez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 18 minutes into the match, ANAHA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Firmin Négrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Firmin Négrel. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cayetano Ponc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cayetano Ponc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ANAHA FC's Firmin Négrel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Firmin Négrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Firmin Négrel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. ANAHA FC's Firmin Négrel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. Francisco Ibañez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Francisco Ibañez scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 2-1. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Firmin Négrel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 40th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Firmin Négrel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2.
