It was a penalty for Guadalupe FC - CIMZ! Guadalupe FC - CIMZ:s Luís Eduardo Garcia showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. Cléber Ramos hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Juan Sebastián Puig was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 20 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. The referee gave Guadalupe FC - CIMZ a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José de Queirós, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. 0-2. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Vides came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristian Sancho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guadalupe FC - CIMZ's Ursino Fuente was substituted for Pedro Luís Lopes. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Eduardo Garcia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rasgun Cool in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Guadalupe FC - CIMZ to win.
