The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Bochin club La Palmera getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Bochin club La Palmera's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With an all-out effort, Bochin club La Palmera's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xalbador Vigalondo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Mederi in the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xalbador Vigalondo in the 91st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erubiel Oihenarte made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
