Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Pastor Firman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 5th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Club Sportivo Quilmes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pastor Firman quite easily take care of the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmílson Martins in the 13th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Pastor Firman threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 22 played minutes Club Sportivo Quilmes got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Przybylo. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Sebastian Verón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pastor Firman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnold Ponk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Radomil Mietus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pastor Firman made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Mexico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Sportivo Quilmes:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Ponk in the 43rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnold Ponk took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Club Sportivo Quilmes were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Firman having to interfere. In the 52nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 56th minute, Arnold Ponk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnold Ponk. In the 63rd minute of the match, Sebastian Verón tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Sebastian Verón sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Samuel Medero was substituted for Silverio Chuan. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Quilmes's goalkeeper Pastor Firman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Emanuel Ladio got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pastor Firman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. Pastor Firman came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 83rd minute of play forced Club Sportivo Quilmes's goalkeeper Pastor Firman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pastor Firman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Radomil Mietus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Club Sportivo Quilmes defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pastor Firman. The Club Sportivo Quilmes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pastor Firman should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Verón in the 90th minute of play. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 92nd minute of play. Pastor Firman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Wlodzimierz Absolwent put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Sportivo Quilmes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! Club Sportivo Quilmes:s Pastor Firman showed great skill when he stopped Joel Gaona:s penalty. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Sportivo Quilmes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mexico.
