Nilmar Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Venezuela's attentive Salvador Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Andrézinho França made a throw-in in the 31st minute of the game. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Pindobassu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Jeff Beck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Tomas Illescas took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Wilfredo Rodriguez to make any attempt to save it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeff Beck made a kick off. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Beck in the 75th minute of play. The corner led Pindobassu EC's Nilmar Vargas to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 81 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. When Víktor Donatello fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pindobassu EC's protests and gave Víktor Donatello a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Jeff Beck kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-4 in the 85 minute of play. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pindobassu EC's goalie prevented a goal.
