Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olimpiu Dichiseanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Şimonca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Sergiu Coșeriu sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match was over Academia Rio could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
