Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd minute Sergiu Coșeriu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Sergiu Coșeriu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia Rio's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergiu Coșeriu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Olimpiu Dichiseanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Rio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Coșeriu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Şimonca. In the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigel Tilea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After having played for 32 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergiu Coșeriu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Tilea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 41st minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sergiu Coșeriu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Tilea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. Olimpiu Dichiseanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Academia Rio's Virgil Şimonca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mihai Oniga hit a great ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Sebastián Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Gigel Tilea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Rio's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Tilea came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sergiu Coșeriu struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Rio. Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ecuador had played much better football throughout.
