Giancarlo Antognoni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raik İhsan in the 22nd minute of the match. Julian Murillo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marko Ööpik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Luz Tejedor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marko Ööpik quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Giancarlo Antognoni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Giancarlo Antognoni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 52nd minute Gunnar Westerstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Armageddon's Giancarlo Antognoni to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marko Ööpik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manole Miulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 78th minute of play forced Armageddon's goalkeeper Marko Ööpik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Ööpik didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Milagros Fraga went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 85 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marko Ööpik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marko Ööpik having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Armageddon's Michel Legdeur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Legdeur came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Peru had won after a very even match.
