Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. In the 21st minute Reynaldo Cebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Reynaldo Cebo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Legacy Youth Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Cebo couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Montez in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Faustino Montez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo Cebo's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reynaldo Cebo helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lisandro Rameriz. That made the score 1-1 after 30 minutes of play. 33 minutes into the game, Abel Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legacy Youth Academy the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Gaudencio Bermudez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wilfredo Oliveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Cebo in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Montez, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st minute, Reynaldo Cebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Gaudencio Bermudez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gaudencio Bermudez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 58 minute of play. When Lautaro Puig fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Lisandro Rameriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustino Montez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. After 81 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. 83 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Cebo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lisandro Rameriz. Legacy Youth Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Legacy Youth Academy were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
