The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Rudolfo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Pedro Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Rudolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Rudolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of the match. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when S.C. Tigres Paulista's Mathias Dantas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pedro Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, S.C. Tigres Paulista's Mathias Dantas got a free kick in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Mathias Dantas put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Mathias Dantas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 34 minutes into the match, S.C. Tigres Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Pedro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. Tigres Paulista's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Pedro Rudolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The long shot by Vitório Barral in the 43rd minute really tested Julio Vera's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 47th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. S.C. Tigres Paulista's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mathias Dantas was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, S.C. Tigres Paulista's Pedro Rudolfo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Rudolfo made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. S.C. Tigres Paulista's Pedro Rudolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Tigres Paulista from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 65 minutes into the match, S.C. Tigres Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Pedro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute of play forced S.C. Tigres Paulista's goalkeeper Pedro Rudolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Rudolfo having to interfere. S.C. Tigres Paulista made a substitution. Bernardinho Albuquerque replaced Wilson Queiroz. Pedro Rudolfo made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Antonio Arias got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Rudolfo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 83rd minute, Antonio Arias made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Rudolfo. S.C. Tigres Paulista's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Pedro Rudolfo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Pedro Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Pedro Rudolfo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador played a much better game than S.C. Tigres Paulista and deserved their victory. The S.C. Tigres Paulista players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
