In a very dangerous position, a player in Ángel Albirrojo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Ángel Albirrojo:s Lorenzo Lorenz showed great skill when he stopped Edmundo Espiga:s penalty. The Honduras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ángel Albirrojo were winning 0-1.

65 minutes into the game, Siro Frances was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ángel Albirrojo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Siro Frances hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, Valentín Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Francesco Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francesco Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Juan Fernando Quinteros got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 88th minute, Juan Fernando Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
