Ferdinand Pflügge came out of the goal and Joshua Secada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erwin Jankowsky's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Spvgg München-Lerch. 05's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinand Pflügge came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferdinand Pflügge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute of play. Roman Jochem could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Ćiro Immobile took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 47th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 55th minute. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ćiro Immobile kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Pflügge having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 67 minutes into the match, Spvgg München-Lerch. 05's goalkeeper Ferdinand Pflügge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Ferdinand Pflügge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. If Roman Jochem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Spvgg München-Lerch. 05 made a substitution. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Spvgg München-Lerch. 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caspar Allendorf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Ferdinand Pflügge made a huge save. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Ferdinand Pflügge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Ulryk Zachemski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdinand Pflügge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the match, Ćiro Immobile notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match.
