Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göksel Kutsoy having to interfere. A hard shot 22 in the game by Axel Runberg from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. 23 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Göksel Kutsoy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Hjalmar Björck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Göksel Kutsoy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Runberg to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of KARATAŞ.FK booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Hjalmar Björck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KARATAŞ.FK's Göksel Kutsoy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save KARATAŞ.FK from getting a goal against them. After 79 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Göksel Kutsoy made a huge save. The supporters of KARATAŞ.FK booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
