The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramo Ramø got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fausto Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Ramo Ramø got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 23 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Cleto Baldovino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ramo Ramø came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ramo Ramø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ramo Ramø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramo Ramø in the 46th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cleto Baldovino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Cleto Baldovino. ERCİYES KARTALI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, ERCİYES KARTALI's Cengiz Trabzonlu made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! 57 minutes into the match, ERCİYES KARTALI's Ramo Ramø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ramo Ramø's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramo Ramø helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ERCİYES KARTALI's Ramo Ramø got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute, Ramo Ramø got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ERCİYES KARTALI's Cleto Baldovino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save ERCİYES KARTALI from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. ERCİYES KARTALI's Cleto Baldovino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute Ercan Sebih shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cleto Baldovino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. 92 minutes into the game, Georg Hellström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ERCİYES KARTALI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Venezuela's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ERCİYES KARTALI had won, even though Venezuela had held more of the ball.
