Fred Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Vânderson Camargo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes of play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Vânderson Camargo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rigoberto Mina the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Venezuela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rigoberto Mina had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! Jonathan Ferrant had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Dieguinho Neiva's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dieguinho Neiva took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 29 minutes into the game, Fred Ferreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Corumbaense F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fred Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Neto in the 40th minute of play. Vânderson Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fred Ferreira made a kick off. Luka Modrić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Corumbaense F.C.'s Fred Ferreira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fred Ferreira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 64 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Tiago Gabriel do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luka Modrić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Luiz Fabiano Neto made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-8. After 83 minutes of play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Fred Ferreira made it 1-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute of the game Tiago Gabriel do Valle made a throw-in which Natã Leite played forward. In the 92nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Vânderson Camargo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Vânderson Camargo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Fred Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes, Rayan Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corumbaense F.C. and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Corumbaense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rayan Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball.
