In the 6th minute Hardo Kaarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With his leg Christian Goy managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Panama's Abraham Alguacil fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute Hardo Kaarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. The supporters of Panama booed when Albirex Niigata FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gencho Ruski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Goy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 26 minutes, Tomas Berganza made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Albirex Niigata FC's Christian Goy tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 2-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Tomas Berganza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Christian Goy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 37th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hardo Kaarna in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Abraham Alguacil fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Christian Goy quite easily take care of the ball. Christian Goy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Goy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Albirex Niigata FC's Hardo Kaarna got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 63rd minute of play forced Albirex Niigata FC's goalkeeper Christian Goy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Albirex Niigata FC's Christian Goy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Polo Maldini got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Goy having to interfere. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Panama's Abraham Alguacil in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Albirex Niigata FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Abraham Alguacil put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Christian Goy. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Khai Choy during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Panama's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
