Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Bartosz Rasimowicz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Daniel Zorita scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Czyž, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Czyž showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Martin Czyž tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartosz Rasimowicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind 2052's goalkeeper Martin Czyž, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
