Moises Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernest Inculeț having to make a save. After 8 played minutes Fc Universitatea Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Otsoa Manzardo. Ernest Inculeț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 9th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sever Tomulescu in the 15th minute of the match. Ernest Inculeț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fc Universitatea Cluj's goalie prevented a goal. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fc Universitatea Cluj's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Edmundo Espiga got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ernest Inculeț quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 27 minutes into the match, Sever Tomulescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sever Tomulescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Fc Universitatea Cluj booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Sever Tomulescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Fc Universitatea Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Ernest Inculeț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tautrimas Čepulis kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Moises Tafalla. The Honduras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fc Universitatea Cluj were winning 0-2.

Fc Universitatea Cluj's Jürgen Tihkan was substituted for Saul Soputan. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 54th minute, but Lautaro Navarro got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Honduras hanging dry this time. In the 56th minute, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Sever Tomulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Universitatea Cluj's Ernest Inculeț was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ernest Inculeț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diederick Englebert hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Inculeț having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Sever Tomulescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sever Tomulescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 86th minute, Sever Tomulescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diederick Englebert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 minutes of play, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Diederick Englebert made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fc Universitatea Cluj played a much better game than Honduras and deserved their victory. The Honduras players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
