ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 23rd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omiros Ntounos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Omiros Ntounos. Omiros Ntounos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Omiros Ntounos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Rouco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Omiros Ntounos quite easily take care of the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stavros Antzas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omiros Ntounos having to interfere. In the 41st minute Farid Delecroix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Omiros Ntounos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Omiros Ntounos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stavros Antzas in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Paris Georgiadis came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Christodoulos Kolokithas got a free kick in the 58th minute. 65 minutes into the match, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Omiros Ntounos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Farid Delecroix left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 75th minute of the match Zinon Makridakis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball.
