Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdulkerim Türköne in the 17th minute of the match. ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ahmet Ozan Saygur took the corner. Harald Ingemarssons short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ignacio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignacio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Abdulkerim Türköne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abdulkerim Türköne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Harald Ingemarsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignacio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ignacio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Ignacio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Andino in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ignacio Vera saved ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdulkerim Türköne in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Ignacio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
