The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Qwinton got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Duarte saved Pindorama from getting behind. After having played for 11 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Pindorama's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Hortêncio Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pindorama's Genílson Marques got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 20th match minute, Pindorama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Hortêncio Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Tafalla in the 21st minute of play. Sebastian Villa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hortêncio Duarte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pindorama's goalie prevented a goal. Luca Espinar's late challenge caught a Pindorama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luca Espinar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute of the match Pindorama got a corner. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgar Matos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edgar Matos made a great header on Pindorama's corner, it was just that Honduras's Lautaro Navarro managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Duarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Pindorama's Nelsinho Meira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 1-1 after 43 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Duarte saved Pindorama from getting behind. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Hortêncio Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the game, Cafu Martins threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Christian Sancho quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Moises Tafalla fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 61st minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Hortêncio Duarte skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Vieira in the 73rd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hortêncio Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 75th minute of play. Hortêncio Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 80th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Hortêncio Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 83rd minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Meira in the 84th minute of play. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Nelsinho Meira sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. In the 96th match minute, Pindorama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilherme Duarte to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Honduras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pindorama.
