Sílvio Pires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute. Camilo Gaos got a throw-in 38 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. The supporters of Venezuela booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas scored 5-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Sílvio Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 70th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Sílvio Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salvador Gisbert made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rômulo Miranda. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sílvio Pires. Sílvio Pires dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Eusébio Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Venezuela fully deserved thier win.
