The wind increased when Jesus Baristo made the kick off in the second half. When Enzo Estebe fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gomosao F.C.'s protests and gave Enzo Estebe a yellow card for diving instead. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 55 played minutes, Gomosao F.C.'s Silvestre Ongile shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gomosao F.C. reached it. If Jesus Baristo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerardo Sancho made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Esteban Carvallo. In the 59th minute, Enzo Estebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petre Stolniceanu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Pascal Borke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Honduras eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
