The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tito Chayo. Nippur de Lagash 2's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Primitivo Andino made in the 46th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Casimiro Cordarell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 54th minute, Casimiro Cordarell made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 58th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to fire away a dangerous shot which Tito Chayo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tito Chayo. That made the score 1-2 after 60 minutes of play. Hernan Lehen took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Casimiro Cordarell might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casimiro Cordarell ran back to his position shaking his head. Tito Chayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Cordarell in the 77th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Tito Chayo in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nippur de Lagash 2 made a substitution. Virgilio Emenon replaced Gavino De Mitri. After 84 minutes Nippur de Lagash 2's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Tito Chayo however easily saved by the left post.
