Jailson Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Gil Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute. Cesinha Teles hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Gil Coelho made a huge save. Waka Barcellos kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gil Coelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 17 minutes, Percy Prestes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barcellos Mineiro FC and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Percy Prestes got a free kick in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Gil Coelho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gil Coelho. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil Coelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 29th minute Orelio Picka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orelio Picka in the 30th minute of play. Gil Coelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Gil Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 32nd minute. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gil Coelho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Felix Luque got a free kick in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jailson Batista to strike the kick off in the second half. Gil Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gil Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waka Barcellos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mexico fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Barcellos Mineiro FC. Tadeu Guerra stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dante Lacasa. 3-1. Gil Coelho came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution. Gernando Bueno replaced João Adolfo Hermes. Gil Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of the match. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Coelho having to interfere. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Gil Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Gil Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match, Jailson Batista got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Toninho Couto sent off a good shot on target. After 95 minutes, Cesinha Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. Waka Barcellos hit a great ball. After 98 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gil Coelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
