In the 43rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. When Tarcisio Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Gilvan Ceresso made in the 68th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jorge Pombal however managed to control. After having played for 73 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xurupita FC made a substitution. Gilvan Ceresso made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Christian Lima. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Jacaré in the 97th minute of the match. Xurupita FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
