The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 4th minute of play forced Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's goalkeeper Rudolf Meulman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmelo Gorka kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Satordi. 18 minutes into the match, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Rudolf Meulman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Meulman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bonifacio Javiar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Bonifacio Javiar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Rudolf Meulman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 37th minute of play. Bonifacio Javiar took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Olimpo de Bahia Blanca defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rudolf Meulman. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudolf Meulman should have stopped the shot. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Nicolas Satordi sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rudolf Meulman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 51st minute of the match. Peru were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Israel Rosio made in the 54th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Satordi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Meulman having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Mina to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the game, Israel Rosio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rudolf Meulman was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Luz Tejedor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luz Tejedor really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. A sloppy throw-in by Israel Rosio in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Rudolf Meulman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of play. Peru were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Rafael Gallo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After a rather tough play, Peru's Joaquin Prats got a free kick in the 87th minute. Rudolf Meulman was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Antonio Tenorio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antonio Tenorio really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Israel Rosio, made in the 94th minute of the game. The supporters of Peru booed when Olimpo de Bahia Blanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Gorka didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Rudolf Meulman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru played a much better game than Olimpo de Bahia Blanca and deserved their victory. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
