Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Maximiliano Escribano had several of the FC Żywiec's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 3 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Steven Schuster as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jens Krammer in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Steven Schuster in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute, FC Żywiec's Hans-Jürgen Bähner seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hans-Jürgen Bähner the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Żywiec protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hans-Jürgen Bähner had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of FC Żywiec:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Uruguay:s goal. FC Żywiec:s Steven Schuster showed great skill when he stopped Jaime Cazalla:s penalty. 23 minutes into the game, FC Żywiec's Walter Schulze-Oben nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Steven Schuster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Steven Schuster made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 30th minute. With a little luck, FC Żywiec's Steven Schuster got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 44 minutes, Bruno Beldad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the FC Żywiec players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roland Hens's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Joaquin Gayoso - 1-2 was put on the score board in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walter Schulze-Oben stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FC Żywiec's zone, Jaime Cazalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steven Schuster came out of the goal and Jaime Cazalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Seco scored 3-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steven Schuster, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Camilo Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Schuster having to interfere. Steven Schuster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 63rd minute of play. When Walter Schulze-Oben came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the FC Żywiec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walter Schulze-Oben couldn't finish the play. Steven Schuster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 74th minute of play forced FC Żywiec's goalkeeper Steven Schuster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Żywiec's Roland Hens got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Schuster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Uruguay booed when FC Żywiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Hens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steven Schuster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute of the match Uruguay got a corner. FC Żywiec's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Cazalla ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Camilo Franco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Steven Schuster was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steven Schuster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven Schuster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
