When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimiro Cordarell in the 43rd minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Oliviero in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Gavino De Mitri hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tito Chayo saved Nippur de Lagash 2 from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Lehen came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Israel Oliviero kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Tito Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute.
