Jurgen Zeeman's late challenge caught a Bolivia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 33 minutes, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Fontirroig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Bolivia booed when DE JONGE TIJGERS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Heijen didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to DE JONGE TIJGERS getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Jurgen Zeeman hit a great ball. After 41 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Julio Chicote. With an all-out effort, DE JONGE TIJGERS's Camilo Freixa threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Karel Lucius, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Duinhoven having to interfere. When Alfonso de la Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivia's protests and gave Alfonso de la Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso de la Cruz to maneuver through the defense. If Karel Lucius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Alfonso de la Cruz hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Fontirroig. After 78 played minutes DE JONGE TIJGERS got a freekick which was hit by Wilfried Sándor. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Duinhoven having to interfere. Wilfried Sándor made in the 88th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Youri Terpstra immediately put the ball in play. Marco Heijen hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Eduardo Fontirroig struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Roland Duinhoven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bolivia.
