The corner led to Honduras's Esteban Carvallo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Ultra Boys got a freekick which was hit by Walter Stensson. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ernst Stenqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Mats Bruse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. In the 70th minute, Arne Martinsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Sancho hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Bruse having to interfere. Esteban Carvallo took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mats Bruse. Mats Bruse dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bo-Erik Fagrell in the 80th minute. Mats Bruse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 82nd minute of play. Ultra Boys's Mats Bruse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ultra Boys's Arne Martinsson got a free kick in the 92nd minute. There was no doubt that Honduras were the better team. Honduras's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
