Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Mujahid Vijiaratnam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. 俞冰帆 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Amir Pieng kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Alexander Tan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Diego Belém sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Diego Belém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Diego Belém tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amir Pieng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Belém in the 69th minute of the match. Polo Maldini made a great header on Albirex Niigata FC's corner, it was just that Panama's Marcos Cotilla managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Albirex Niigata FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Barrios didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7-0 became the score in the 74th minute when Diego Belém elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 85th match minute, Albirex Niigata FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Tan to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Abraham Alguacil a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Amir Pieng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Albirex Niigata FC had played much better football throughout.
