In the 16th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dietrich Winkler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietrich Winkler having to interfere. FC Fano's Dietrich Winkler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Villa in the 23rd minute of play. Otto König hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to FC Fano getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Otto König hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dietrich Winkler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evren Cambaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dietrich Winkler saved FC Fano from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evren Cambaz to strike the kick off in the second half. When Edmundo Espiga fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Edmundo Espiga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Edmundo Espiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Wilhelm Lampadius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evren Cambaz in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of FC Fano booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evren Cambaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 played minutes FC Fano got a freekick which was hit by Evren Cambaz. Otto König hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Edmundo Espiga sped through FC Fano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dietrich Winkler. Otto König made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Evren Cambaz. After 76 played minutes FC Fano got a freekick which was hit by Otto König. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dietrich Winkler was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. FC Fano's Dietrich Winkler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Fano from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evren Cambaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Dietrich Winkler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga scored 4-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dietrich Winkler, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honduras's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC Fano had won, even though Honduras had held more of the ball.
