Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute, Emanuel Ocampo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Paraibano in the 14th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Squadra Demarchi got a corner. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. When Richard Moura was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 22 minutes had been played. Oscar Saldanha was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Edmundo Espiga. If Kléber Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Batista hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Queirós in the 36th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ocampo to maneuver through the defense. Paulinho Paraibano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. Claudinho Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Luca Espinar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Saldanha having to interfere. When Claudinho Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Squadra Demarchi's protests and gave Claudinho Pinho a yellow card for diving instead. Ivan Navarro charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivan Navarro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oscar Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Espinar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 76th minute of play forced Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga managed to work through Squadra Demarchi's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Edmundo Espiga dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 84 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oscar Saldanha. Squadra Demarchi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Espiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Squadra Demarchi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Oscar Saldanha. 3-0. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 96 played minutes Squadra Demarchi got a freekick which was hit by Paulinho Paraibano. In the 97th minute of the match Luca Espinar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Saldanha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Honduras were the better team. Honduras's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
