Oscar Saldanha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kléber Queirós's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléber Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Honduras booed when Squadra Demarchi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 played minutes Squadra Demarchi got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Meirelles. Oscar Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Moises Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Oscar Saldanha. Squadra Demarchi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Pinho in the 93rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Squadra Demarchi defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oscar Saldanha. The Squadra Demarchi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oscar Saldanha should have stopped the shot.
