With a little luck, Ezber Bozan FK's Nofre Amorebieta got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafa Marin's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nofre Amorebieta firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastian Schweinsteiger in the 36th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nofre Amorebieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Domenik de Vos came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenik de Vos, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Onur Ali Şen in the 86th minute. In the 93rd minute Onur Ali Şen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mexico had played much better football throughout.
