Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Saunders in the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 7th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper La Para to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Lara came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored FC Lugano's protests and gave Nereo Precioso a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Panama booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Precioso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Saunders came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Dylan Sarmiento. The Panama players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Lugano were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. La Para took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jack Saunders in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Lugano's Wincenty Kochowski was substituted for Nereo Precioso. The supporters of Panama booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Saunders didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Lugano walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
